Custom Wax Ring — blank & casting (how pricing works)

Each ring starts as a hand-shaped wax blank — the design you choose is a bespoke, handmade form. The listed price on this product covers the wax blank only (the handmade form and design work).

Casting (material + casting process) is charged separately and invoiced before production, based on the metal you choose and the current market price at the time of casting.

How we charge (simple, transparent):

You pay for the wax blank at checkout (this covers the handmade form and design).

After you confirm metal, size and any gemstone, we calculate the casting fee (material + casting + VAT) and send a separate invoice for that amount. We do not begin casting until the casting invoice is paid.

If you need a different ring size or a custom stone, message us via the website contact form after ordering.

Example pricing (for transparency)

Below is an illustrative example for a ring with an average finished metal weight of 9.0 g (final weight varies by size & design). Example assumes 3% extra metal for casting loss, a €10 casting fee, and 19% VAT applied to (metal cost + casting fee). Wax blank price in this example is €80 (fixed fee — replace with your chosen blank price).

Base ring weight: 9.00 g

Add 3% casting loss → 9.00 × 1.03 = 9.27 g required metal

Example metal price bases used here (illustrative):

Bronze (example): €0.00632 per gram. 

Silver 935 (example): €2.49 per gram (user reference; silver markets fluctuate — sources show intra-week variation). 

Gold (example): €136.36 per gram.

Bronze example

Metal required: 9.27 g × €0.00632/g = €0.06 (metal)

Casting fee: €10.00

VAT (19% on metal+casting): 19% × (€0.06 + €10.00) = €1.91

Casting total (metal + casting + VAT): €11.97

Wax blank (example €80) → Final example price: €91.97

Silver 935 example

Metal required: 9.27 g × €2.49/g = €23.08 (metal)

Casting fee: €10.00

VAT (19% on metal+casting): 19% × (€23.08 + €10.00) = €6.29

Casting total (metal + casting + VAT): €39.37

Wax blank (example €80) → Final example price: €119.37

Gold example (spot 24k basis — see note)

Metal required: 9.27 g × €136.36/g = €1,264.06 (metal)

Casting fee: €10.00

VAT (19% on metal+casting): 19% × (€1,264.06 + €10.00) = €242.07

Notes & important details for customers

The wax blank price is fixed and paid at checkout. Casting (metal + casting + VAT) is invoiced separately and depends on the metal price at the time we calculate your casting invoice.

Gold used for jewelry is often an alloy (e.g., 18k or 14k). The example above uses a spot price per gram (pure gold) for transparency — we will convert to the actual alloy basis (e.g., 18/24 of the spot) when we calculate your invoice, or use the specific alloy price you choose. 

Silver market prices change; the example uses €2.49/g for silver 935 as an illustrative reference — live market rates may be higher or lower on the day we make the casting. 

Bronze (base metal) is much cheaper by weight; depending on source and alloy, material cost per gram is low (example used above). 

If you request a custom gemstone or extra finishing, these are added as separate options/costs on the casting invoice.

Final invoice will list: metal rate used, grams used (with casting loss), casting fee (€10), VAT (19% on metal+casting), and total. We keep the calculation transparent and attach the market rate reference used at time of invoicing.
