How to Care for Your Jewelry

To keep your jewelry looking beautiful and lasting longer, avoid exposing it to sudden temperature changes or high pressure. Our pieces are nickel-free and lead-free, and while they’re water-resistant, it’s best to remove them before swimming, showering, or applying perfumes and lotions to preserve their shine.

For day-to-day care, gently polish your jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth. For a deeper clean, wash it with warm soapy water using a soft toothbrush, then dry it thoroughly.

If you’re not wearing your jewelry for a while, store it in a sealed container or pouch in a dry place to keep it safe from moisture and scratches.

Custom Wax Ring — blank & casting (how pricing works)

Each ring starts as a hand-shaped wax blank. The design you choose is a bespoke, handmade form created individually for your order.

The listed price on this product covers the wax blank only — the handmade form and design work.

Casting (material and casting process) is charged separately and invoiced before production. The final casting cost depends on the selected metal and the market price at the time of casting.

You pay for the wax blank at checkout. After you confirm the metal, ring size, and any gemstone preferences, the casting fee is calculated and sent to you as a separate invoice.
Casting begins only after this invoice is paid.

Example pricing (for transparency)

The following example is illustrative and meant to show how casting costs are calculated.

It is based on an average finished ring weight of approximately 9.0 g. Final weight may vary depending on ring size, design, and metal choice.

An additional 3% metal is included to account for casting loss, a €10 casting fee is added, and 19% VAT is applied to the total of metal cost and casting fee.

In this example, the wax blank price is €80 (fixed).

With 3% casting loss: 9.27 g metal required

Important details

The wax blank price is fixed and paid at checkout. Casting costs are calculated separately and may vary depending on metal choice, ring size, design, and current market prices.

Gold jewelry is typically made from alloys such as 14k or 18k. The gold example above is shown using a pure gold price for clarity; the final invoice will reflect the actual alloy selected.

If you request a custom gemstone or additional finishing, these costs will be added to the casting invoice.

Your final casting invoice will always clearly list the metal rate used, the metal weight (including casting loss), the casting fee, VAT, and the total amount.

Product Safety & Risk Disclosure — Stannuum

Nature of the product.

Stannuum pieces are decorative jewellery objects created as artistic and expressive forms. They are designed primarily for special occasions, styling and visual impact, not for continuous everyday wear. These items are not toys.

Age & responsibility.

Not suitable for children under 12 years. Due to shape, rigidity and surface features, these products may pose a risk of injury if handled without care. Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times.

Materials.

Jewellery is produced using the following metals and alloys:

– Lead-free tin alloy: 99.7% Tin (Sn) / 0.3% Copper (Cu)

– 935 silver

– Bronze, gold and stainless steel components (chains, clasps, earring posts, fasteners)

Sharp edges, protrusions & snagging risk.

Due to the sculptural and experimental nature of the designs, pieces may feature sharp edges, pointed elements, hooks, protrusions or rigid geometries. These characteristics may:

– scratch or cut skin

– cause eye injury if handled carelessly

– snag, tear or damage clothing, hair or fabrics

Wearers must handle and wear the jewellery consciously and attentively, taking full account of the risks associated with the form and structure of the piece.

Intended use & limitations.

These products are intended for external decorative use only. They are not designed for physical activity, sleep, sports, work environments, crowded spaces or situations involving sudden movement or impact.

Remove jewellery before physical activity, sleep, or exposure to other people, children or animals.

Allergy & skin sensitivity.

Although lead-free tin and silver are used, metal sensitivity (including to copper, silver or other alloy components) is possible. Do not wear on broken or irritated skin. If redness, pain or irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.

Care & handling.

Do not bend, force or modify the jewellery. Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid perfumes, cosmetics, moisture, acids and chemicals. Store separately to prevent damage to other items.

Liability & assumption of risk.

By purchasing and wearing Stannuum jewellery, the customer acknowledges that these are non-neutral, form-driven objects whose design may involve inherent physical risks.

To the maximum extent permitted by EU law, Stannuum shall not be liable for:

– damage to clothing, personal property or surroundings

– injuries resulting from improper use, careless handling, modification, or use contrary to the warnings and intended purpose stated above

This notice does not limit or exclude mandatory consumer rights or statutory product-liability obligations under applicable EU law.
